Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Clever Nox. Too clever for his own good, Nox betrayed the Celestial dragons, long ago, in attempt to ingratiate himself to the Primordial dragons. In retaliation for his treason, his sisters, the Five Maidens, bound him standing in place with great magics and turned him over to Autochthon, that she might find use in a frozen traitor. In her madcap Making, Autochthon drew his shimmering golden stripes out into threads that descend off his neck, belly, wings, and tail, rooting him to the ground. So thick are the threads that even if he were not enchanted into stony stillness, he would be unable to move.

Now, magic-bound and helpless to do anything but plot, Nox serves his sisters as the Loom of Fate, and they use the patterns of his glimmering, ever-changing threads to try to foretell the fates of their charges. Nox is aware, and though he can no longer resist his sisters, he would rebel again given the chance.
