Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Freyr Skirr is the son of Hludana and Njoeror. As well as his entire family, he is named after a Norse god. In mythology, Freyr and Freya were the children of Njordr, the god of water and wind, after whom his father is named. As one of the main Norse gods is the fertility god Freyr, whose second name "Skirr" means the "Shining One", his family decided to baptise their only child after him. Coming from a religious family such as his, he takes part in the annual honouring rituals of the clan. His favorite one is the race competition, where the fastest is said to be allowed the grace of the gods. Never having won yet, Freyr Skirr doesn't know if that's true, but he's dreaming of the day he will win. And that day will come!
