Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Iolitrius CrackleWing (after the gemstone: Iolite) is the 198th dragon of the Mystal Clan, his egg scooped up protectively shortly after high moon one thunderous spring night. His arrival marked the start of a lengthy storm which endured for more days and nights than could be counted, the worst of which occurred on the night of his hatching. As he poked his head from the tattered shell, a massive bolt of lightning cracked against the outer wall of the clan cave, breaking through effortlessly, and streaked toward the newly emerging hatchling. All those in attendance shrieked as he was engulfed in the sizzling electrified beam, his wings crackling in its embrace. If ever it could be seen for a dragon to laugh, it would have been on that night, for he was not injured by its touch; he was in fact, energized by the swell and let out an enormous and gleeful howl unbefitting his youthful size. He has never lost that vigor, and remains to this day, the most vivacious dragon of the clan cave.
