Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Draconic history is full of tales of would-be dark lords and conquerors, and yet few stories mention what happened to these ambitious dragons once they were defeated. Some were killed, yes, but most were wily enough to fake their own deaths. Many of these have wound up in one particular weyr, otherwise unremarkable, where they gather each week to recall past glories and share the mistakes that led to their defeat.

If Sudenko had just kept up his end of the bargain, all would have been well, but his overconfidence was his undoing. He was so certain that he could defeat a paltry few vampire dragons (completely overlooking that he'd thought well enough of them to make the deal in the first place) that he felt no qualms about not only failing to deliver the eggs they'd agreed upon, but also laughing at them for their foolishness in expecting him to keep his promise. Sudenko escaped with his life, thanks to his backup plans, but now carries a very interesting pattern of scars.
