Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.
Lillie is the mother of the group. She spends almost all her time caring for the hatchlings and the eggs and raises them well. Lillie is loved by the others, but spends almost no time outside her nest in the back of the cave where the eggs are. Food is brought to her by the others, thus increasing her time in the cave. She is a very patient dragon and an excellent teacher for the younglings. She will never fight unless, of course, her young are threatened in which case she will do everything in her power to protect them. Lillie is well on her way to creating quite a family of her own, and is very content to take care of all the others' children as well.
