Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Romi the Third is the proud partner of Geininph, with whom she shares a small plot of land outside Nworset City. She tends their pigs and dairy aurochs. Since they only have room for one aurochs they periodically replace it with new ones from one of the dairies—often, Peccarino's cheese farm. Romi has never been more that a hundred miles from Nworset and holds many simple beliefs, such as that mayor Kwntkz is the best mayor ever. Because of the ongoing war with the humans to the south, she thinks all hominids are foul and violent creatures despite what Geininph has told her about the wider world. She is very caring to him, although she gets exited whenever they go into town and often looses him in the crowds. He always seems to find her eventually, at least.
