Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems shy, but loves attention.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tabi-chan thinks she's freaking fabulous, and doesn't mind letting everyone know.  She can often be found strutting about trying to get the other dragons to recognize her greatness.  Her tendency to spaz sort of gets in the way of all the awesome, though.  She's attracted to shiny things and the multitude of female hatchlings around, which she frequently claims as "hers".
