Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

For reasons unknown, the legendary Bronze Dragon of Riven decided to make the cave of the Shorah Clan her permanent home. Dubbed 'Rivenese Bronze' in honor of her color and heritage, she has been well accepted into the clan by all.

Riven—as she calls herself for short—loves to trade stories and knowledge with all the dragons of the cave. She can captivate both young and old with a simple short story or fact about one thing or another—especially when she speaks of the Great Tree of her original home (which the vines around her tail and crown of leaves that adorn her head came from).

However, her scholarly nature has been shown to be a cover for a more playful and childish side that delights in games and other sources of amusement.
