Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Fools Gold is a sweet, if especially idiotic, gold dragon. Brave and strong, Fools Gold  enjoys flirting with pretty females and telling them about his many adventures facing hundreds of foes: adventures that are a little more than exaggerated. Despite this, Fools Gold is a bit of an idiot. This idiocy has made him into the brunt of many a joke. His naivete has gotten him in enough trouble, that he is constantly watched by members of his clan to ensure that he is not taken advantage of. Still, though a fool, Fools Gold is exceptionally sweet and gentle. The artist of the clan, Fools Gold adores painting portraits of historical events, and fantastical dreams that he has. Amazingly talented, Fools Gold has sold hundreds of his paintings across the countryside.
