Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Darkest Hour Before Dawn is a Moonstone. He likes to be called Darkesthour, or Dark for short. He stays up all night usually and sleeps during the day, much to the annoyance of normal dragons such as Gold, Orange, or even Fastwing. He stays up later than Fastwing! And that is very late, seeing as Fastwing the sunset dragon usually goes to sleep a bit past midnight. He also has a strange blue orb on his tail. Female dragons usually wish they had something as elegant as that. Dark likes the orb and claims that he gathers his energy by absorbing moonlight through it.

He's calm, understanding and very gentle. He loves hatchlings.
