Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Due to a rare sickness that she was afflicted with during her early life, Chibi no Aosaki or Ao-chan is unable to reach adult stage but she never let it affect her life. Instead, she is a very hyperactive hatchling and love to fly around all over the cave and never stay still on one place for long. However, since she is easily distracted, it is not seldom that she slam head first into another dragon or the cave walls which makes her a regular to Hikari's healing power and scolding that comes with it.
