Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Spotty McFly is a young Striped dragon. He lives in a room in his clan's cave with his mentor, Voltie the Electric dragon, whom he calls "Doc Volt". He is smart, funny, and plays what looks like a guitar for dragons. He and Voltie are currently figuring out how to time travel and were even visited by their future selves who brought them a magical carriage from the future to convert into a time machine. Along with their new magical carriage, they were also brought the basic parts of something called a "Flux Capacitor", which is supposed to be the lead circuit in a time machine. Once he and Voltie hooked it up to their magical carriage, they time traveled 200 years in the past, in which Spotty had to get his mother and father to meet so he could exist, after he accidentally altered the future by eating a beetle, setting off a chain reaction that somehow caused his parents to never have met. After that whole incident was over, he had to go back to the future, to his own time.
