Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Astrapi are easily the most temperamental of all Xenowyrm subspecies. Their unpredictable behavior—coupled with their masterful control of lightning magic—has the potential for devastating results. Most of their time is spent airborne, flying through the skies or circling mountainsides for prey.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sarin Epyre can summon lightning bolts from the sky or project them from her eyes, using them to severely burn her opponents even to the point of death. Unlike normal bolts of lightning, Sarin could use them as concussive or even piercing forces. Sarin is another guardian of the mountain fortress in her clan, a fortress that is a sanctuary for all her clan members that live in the mountainous clan territory. It is a central point were they come together during either breeding season, for help or to relax. Sarin is there to protect the clan members when they rest in the fortress. She sometimes also functions as a bouncer, kicking clan members out of the fortress when they have overstayed their welcome. Seeing through dishonesty and disingenuous motives, Sarin can step past manipulation and sales tactics and into a more honest discussion. She can see how people, dragons and events are connected, and is able to use that insight to get to the heart of the matter.
