Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. With the help of magical fields his claws produce harmonious vibrations, just by moving rhythmically up and down in front of his torso (or in May's case sometimes even behind his back). No other dragon in the clan has mastered the magical, invisible instrument as well as he has, but he has heard rumours about a certain Heartseeker's father that have made him curious.
