It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. With her sleek look and shiny coat, Elegance is, well, pure elegance. She eats only flowers, preferring those that are soft-petalled and plucked when the morning dew is still on them. On the rare occasions during the mating season when she eats meat, she will eat only songbirds.

Elegance loves the night, when the moonlight shines on her purple coat and enhances her already mesmerizing beauty. She also enjoys singing in her many-toned voice, and though her music is slightly off-key it draws many suitors to her.

Elegance enjoys a special bond with Neptune Whispers, a sea dragon, and they often discuss the nature of beauty, although Elegance views herself as the epitome of beauty and Neptune views the ocean as such.
