Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Geode dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.
Sapphire Fantasia is incredibly beautiful, though she doesn't think so. She will spend hours staring at her reflection in the nearby pond; though many mistakenly assume she is looking at her reflection out of vanity, she is in fact criticizing her appearance. She will go so far as to lightly injure male dragons who think she is outwardly beautiful, but she does take very much pride in her inner beauty... Sometimes this pride covers up her inner beauty and makes it difficult to see her for who she is.
