Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Bloodnyte Helm, the first of the Helm clan, was brought into the cave as a hatchling, but all the adult dragons with any sense tried to convince Janna Storm, the magic-user, to throw her out, and with good reason, too. To all appearances, the dragon was dead, and served no purpose except to take up space. But no matter what they said, the hatchling stayed, and to everyone's huge surprise and horror, became active one night. Bloodnyte keeps to herself in the shadows, avoiding all other dragons, who likewise keep away from her, but tolerating her presence. However, when she was caught biting an egg, Goaranok Tar was mortified when she saw what the egg had become, and threw it out. The hatchlings were warned to keep away from this undead dragon, advice that they heed well.
