Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Balloon dragons are so named because they are filled with a gas that makes them almost lighter than air, similar to balloons. However, they are not prone to bursting, as they are covered in tough skin and can deflate themselves if necessary. In addition, they generally are slow moving. They use their gas bladders to float to the tops of trees, where food is more abundant. They can shift their weight from their backs to their fronts, allowing them to reach leaves and fruit.

CherryPie Princess is a very close friend to CherryPieGirl. She was actually brought close to Rekha's lands by the very first dragon that ever became friends with Rekha herself. Rekha was quick to welcome CherryPie Princess as one of her own and now she can often be seen floating or bouncing around the beautiful trees gathering whatever greens she may find to snack upon. She also often keeps a quiet eye upon the young hatchlings who are not very far off and the eggs that Rekha leaves for the other Dragons to care for.
