Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Aydan Silverhawk is the mate of Soniya Silverhawk. He was a little shy as a hatchling, but grew over that when he became older and eventually became quite proud of his soft silvery glow. Many female dragons would not have hesitated to become his mate, yet Aydan set his mind on Soniya since early adulthood and did not stop until she reacted positively on his flirting, even though he knew that Soniya was the kind of dragon that would not be able to stay with only one partner. Sometimes this makes Aydan jealous, but he quickly learned that even though Soniya is not used to monogamy she does look at him as her partner for life and sees him as most important lover. She even does not mind Aydan having an occasional flirt himself, as long as he is honest about it, and now that Aydan is used to the situation he is perfectly happy with his life.
