Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Redeye Blackhorn, a strange name for a common little hatchling. Redeye is picked on a lot because of his name and sometimes his breed. Nowadays, he has learned enough to know why they pick on him. Now, he rarely appears unless it's something important like a clan war, though not very often, or a clan meeting. He is quite hard to find, on matter where anyone looks because he has better things to do besides getting picked on. The adults try to favor him over the others but it is hard to do that when over a hundred frozen hatchlings are screaming for attention.
