Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When Kadistin agreed to spend a summer at Dragonhaven Island, she expected a couple of months spent browsing the endless shelves of the spiraling library or basking on the beach. The reality involved plenty of research, but very little time for sunbathing. As the newest magic-user, she was expected to take on many of the odd and often unpleasant tasks that nobody else wanted, from crab-wrangling—no easy task, given that some long-dead magi dragon had provided them with armor and weapons—to cataloging the contents of the latest pocket universe (often one not already known about, as the prior inhabitants of the island had often been careless about record-keeping). By the end of the summer, Kadistin's forelegs were covered with pinpricks from crab swords (just the right size to slip between scales), she had sand under every scale, and she'd picked up new nightmare material from some of the stranger pocket universes, but she was still hoping she'd be invited back the following summer.
