Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Black Ice Crystal loves Le Beau Noir. He would do anything to please his idol—and brings him treats and follows him around all day. And night—which can be annoying. Sadly communication between the two is minimal as Le Beau Noir only speaks French. Black Ice Crystal would willingly learn that language, given the chance—but he can't find a way to ask Le Beau Noir to teach him, as Le Beau Noir only responds to spoken French—from Black Ice Crystal at any rate. He seems to talk to the other adults, which makes Black Ice Crystal feel very left out.
