Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Perhaps the best word for Neptune would be scholarly. He loves the night sky and the stars that fill it. He catalogs the stars, recording their positions and how they change in very detailed documents within his mountaintop cave. He is known for climbing as high as he possibly can for a clearer view of the stars, and for going weeks without hunting because he would rather just watch the night sky. He is primarily nocturnal, but hunts during the day so as not to miss any of the stars he so loves. This makes him an ineffective hunter- he has very little practice, hunts when he should be sleeping, and is easily spotted. Neptune has but two passions- the stars and his mate, Tyska the Black alt. When he was weak from watching his stars for too long without food or drink, she nursed him back to health and they fell in love. Orion, another Nebula dragon, loves him also, but he has eyes only for Tyska.
