Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females, like most female dragons, eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.
Pinctada was the first metallic dragon to inhabit Phantom Valley. How a dragon of her breed settled here, nobody seems to remember. Though, common myth tells of a time when Phase ArchPhantom was desperately seeking inhabitants for his budding little mountain flock with a population of less than fifty, he would frequent the metropolitan orphanages and snatch those whom he deemed would enjoy living in the valley. For this reason, Pinctada harbored a little crush on the valley's leader for many moons until her eyes met with Tsukuyomi's. The rest was history.
