Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Londo is loud and proud, and makes sure that everyone around him knows it. Due to viewing himself as important and in charge, Londo tends to slack off in Nadat's cave whenever anyone is looking. However, this is a cover. When no one is paying attention, Londo spends time looking over the hatchlings and eggs, making sure they're healthy and happy. As soon as they're old enough to recognize him he stops, creating a safe distance between him and them. He doesn't want anyone to know that he's not as dignified and detached as his father. There's one exception to this, though. For some reason, he's drawn to the frilled dragon Vir. Maybe he feels that Vir needs extra guidance, or maybe he just wants a dragon to look up to him. No one knows, not even Londo.
