Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has two tails!
And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don’t grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Kibbunt is convinced swallows are her distant relatives, possibly the result of a misfired spell by her ancestor eons ago. She tries to communicate with them, but they do not seem to respond well to her telepathy. Frustrated, she studied their calls and habits to see if she could learn their language. She has mastered the birdsong so well as to attract swallows interested in mating - until they see just who was actually making the call!

More recently, Kibbunt built a giant nest to mimic the birds' nests, so that she could live among them in the swallow community. Slowly, the birds have learned that she is not a threat to them, but she still has not succeeded in having an intellectual conversation with any of them.
