Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Since the concepts of time, space, and how they are supposed to interract never made much sense to his eldritch brain in the first place, he doesn't see what the other dragons trapped in the region dislike about it and continues to push and pull fragments of reality around as he tunnels through the Submachines. He likes to superimpose himself on Murtaugh, the pink dragon with the missing leg, and let him guide his portal-making. He also really likes Secreter the ochredrake. He finds some of the balls she hides and gives them back to her, at which point she goes off and hides them again to keep them safe.
