Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It's shocking Brei and her best friend, Shalts, came from such different backgrounds. Despite different pasts and parents, they are essentially the same dragon. The same passions and sense of loyalty paint both characters. Even looks. Were Brei to get her white scales blackened, it would be impossible to tell them apart.

It was no surprise that Brei, too, fell in love with Kicel. Brei might even have more claim on him; she has been best friends with him since she was practically an egg while Shalts wasn't allowed to even LOOK at the inbred male. But he chose Shalts.

A guy can't come between a bond like the two hens have however. Brei would still die for her best friend.

When Kicel went missing, Brei and Shalts were desperate to get him back. She had undergone special training and was able to pick up his scent. Or rather, the scent of his blood. The two friends wandered through the cavern, terrified at what they might find...
