Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a pink cloud that follows it everywhere. You seem to be having more difficulty concentrating since it arrived.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

When Bendis first hatched she was mistaken for a male hatchling and named accordingly. She doesn't mind though, using her second name as it is like she states it 'neutral enough'.

For a long time Bendis was seen as a new hope among the Daydream dragons of the clan, but as time went on it became clear, that Bendis was far too eager to please every dragon and to live up to their expectations. The dreams she sends out have suffered as a consequence. Nevertheless most of her dreams are pleasant enough and the occasional gem can still be found among them.
