Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aurea is an extremely graceful and polite dragon- at least on the outside.

Inside, she's full of fury: fury at her pathetic fellow dragons, fury at the little 'club' she was automatically accepted into (the Nebula dragons, which are quite numerous in the caves of lchai, always seem to group together), and fury at her lineage. Aurea is part of the ten percent in the caves that actually give a darn about their lineage. Her lineage is a gorgeous descending staircase bred with Gold Wyverns, and yet, because she is not caveborn, she cannot participate in the Purebred Nebula project- a project involving all caveborn and purebred Nebula dragons to create the largest Nebula purebred lineage possible, regardless of patterns in lineage. This infuriates Aurea, a self-proclaimed head of the Nebula group.

Yet the polite, graceful, and positive attitude she puts on the outside never wavers. Then again, she's always 'accidentally' tripping Media, the latest heir to the Nebula Lineage Project...
