Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Proteus, a fierce-looking black dragon, was raised as a noble warrior.  Though his skills in battle are great, Proteus is known to be obstructed by his emotions in battle, putting himself and the other warriors in great danger.  When he was a hatchling, it was noted that he had potential to become an incredibly brave and fierce dragon, for he was a naturally brave young fellow, but when his real tendencies were revealed, Proteus's harsh training and demonstrations became worthless, and he was greatly ashamed.  Now, Proteus is older, and has accepted that he wasn't the prodigy that he was supposed to be.  He spends much time with the hatchlings, being a serious, but also understanding and compassionate fatherly figure to many, and with his mate, whom he finds understands him well.  Sometimes Proteus muses that his life is better than it ever could have been if he was forced to constantly fight.
