Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Once a guardian of mankind, Asmodeus was a renowned professor and scientist who spoke with passion of humans and dragons living in peace, and impressed many with the logic behind his words. But then his mate fell dangerously ill, and he was forced to leave her to search for the herbs that could cure her... and then, upon finding it and returning home, he found his mate and eggs gone, their possessions destroyed and the den reeking of humans. The loss of the one he loved drove him insane, shattering all trust he had in humans. Now, hunting and slaughtering them is the only thing that gives him joy, and he can wipe out an entire village in a single night. Those that he brings back to his cave alive are never seen again, but their screams can be heard for days, until he tires of experimenting on his victims and grants their pleas for him to finish it.
