Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Autumn Piazza is a hatchling with a remarkably mathematical brain. While all of the other hatchlings struggled to learn even the simplest of times tables, Autumn Piazza excelled with the most complicated forms of abstract geometry, multivariable calculus, and trigonometry.

Despite his successes, Autumn Piazza could not bear to see his fellow classmates struggle, so he decided to open up his own tutoring business. Each evening, Autumn Piazza sits on a rock on the Starus Plains and allows all hatchlings to visit for help. The most generous part of his business is that it is completely affordable: one gold piece for an entire year of tutoring.
