Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Royal Golden Cliffdiver is an ochredrake. He is very fun-loving, sometimes to the point of forgetting his responsibilities. The hatchlings crowd around him whenever he entertains them with singing, fancy dives through the air, or stories. He is a talented at acrobatics, and he enjoys diving off a steep canyon in the southern part of his clan's territory, hence his name. Royal Golden Cliffdiver originally belonged to a wild pack of ochredrakes, but they abandoned him as a hatchling. He took to the sky and, after a long, enduring journey, found his clan's territory before crash landing in exhaustion. He was found and brought up by Royal Golden Skyseeker and his clan, and the two ochredrakes share a very close bond, considering each other 'brothers'.
