This hatchling could hardly be considered cute.

And look! It has grown wings! At least it isn’t quite as naked-looking anymore.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The night of the 26th of October 2011 was a cold, but clear night. GiratinaOF was walking through the area around the cave when he found some marrow eggs on near some cold rocks. They hatched soon and one of them was named "Small Marrow".

Small Marrow is already really aggressive for a little hatchling. Even if he's about their size, most pygmy dragons are scared of him, and even some adult Pumpkins are getting nervous when they meet him alone. Most of the time he's hunting with the adult marrows or being watched by the Stone dragons. This dragon is full of life.
