Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Long ago, Knight fell in love with a beautiful young dragon. Though her body was weak, her spirit was strong. Knight loved her with all his heart, and vowed to protect her from any harm. He became one of the finest warriors in Luna Bell's herd. One fateful night, Shadow Puppet's herd attacked the peaceful dragons. Knight proudly defended his herd, and, after three long hours of battle, they won. Knight flew to his love, to celebrate the victory with her. But, when he found her, she was laying in a pool of her own blood, dead. Knight was overcome by a horrible despair and flew far away from the herd. He flew till he nearly collapsed, and landed on a small island. Atop the Island stood a castle, a dragon made of paper greeted him. Knight was allowed to stay on the island as long as he pleased. He lives there now, hidden away in the castle chambers, longing to see his love again.
