Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Every cave has a guardian. Bluesteel Shield is this cave's Guardian. With the dawn he wakes, stretching folded wings and yawning to reveal a maw of ivory teeth. He is among the first to wake, greeting the dragons of the night with a polite dip of his skull in passing as they seek their beds. He settles on a ledge just above the cave mouth, a wide space of rock he is accustomed to sharing with others and will no doubt share with his offspring. He has sat in this same spot so often that there are comfortable marks for his claws to settle in and an indentation where the shield on the end of his tail comes to rest. Under his watchful eye, eggs are tended, hatchlings frolic, and adults gossip and pass the time. He is not alone in his defense of this place, this ever growing community, but should trouble come he shall be the first to rise in defense of it. And when the night comes he steps down from his place, greets the night dragons in passing once again, and settles in his customary sleep.
