Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

When Alternattiva and Glowing Black Silver decided to have another child, right away something was wrong. Almost as soon as he hatched, he claimed dominance. He tormented the other hatchlings and even the frozen hatchlings, inflicting injuries.

"Ha! You are inferior!" he would shout.

He would often pick fights and go looking for trouble. He would even try to pick fights with Alternattiva's son, Vibration despite he being bigger and stronger. When he grew his wings, he would fly after the hunting parties and torment them by scaring away prey.

It was clear to Alternattiva that he could not be allowed to grow into a full adult. She convinced Pika to freeze him so he could not grow stronger.

Pika agreed, but she had to have dragons hold him down so she could cast the spell. Now dragons take shifts making sure he doesn't cause more trouble.
