Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has long toes, and likes to wander around on lily pads.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Nanook's Little Helper is just that: she carries books, pens, journals, gifts from strangers, and miscellanea in her satchel. At an early age, she learned how to read, write, and speak over fourteen languages spoken by twelve species, and thus became an irreplaceable assistant to the Scribe. She notates interviews, asks for directions, and chats with locals whenever she and Nanook travel in search of new stories. When not traveling, she curls up next to the writing desk in Nanook's cave in the Bogs of Brythe, and guards the Books of Records (not that it needs guarding, generally, but one can never be too careful).
