Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Several years ago, a great ship set sail for new land. The great explorers found all sorts of treasures: gold, silver, and most importantly, oranges. The magical fruits were able to cure the horrible diseases the sailors caught on the open sea. And so, a great market for these wonder fruit grew. An old merchant in particular was famous for his especially delicious oranges. One day, while looking through his current stock, he noticed one was moving. He picked it up, and realized it was a rare Magi dragon. He named it Oranngo after the oranges that had made his fortune. Oranngo had a great gift: she was able to turn rotton oranges new again. The two worked together to sell a great empire of oranges. Today, the old man is retired, living in his mansion with his best friend sitting on his lap like a cat.
