Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whereas many storm dragons are temperamental and mercuric, Verena is more controlled and self-certain. She fears nothing, and is something of an ascetic lama. Humans, and rarely dragons, seek her advice in enlightenment at a monastery on a plateau.<br/>Rather than invoking tempests and hurricanes, Verena instead calms them. She does enjoy flying in them, but knows that they can cause the needless destruction of lives and art. Usually, she can be found painting a cliff face with her tail or training aspiring gurus. Her passion for art is matched only by her passion for another dragon known as Nicodeme. This other dragon shared a human-made lair with her, but their passion is more than physical. They enjoy exchanging doctrines and constructing Goliath murals upon sheer cliff faces (usually depicting weather or landscape scenes). Though both believe in the sapience of all things, they eat meat because all living things are reincarnated after death (or so they think).
