It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pulummus Regalius is a regal and gentle purple dragon. When he fell in love with Sixy Looker Bleu, he had no idea the spitfire dragon was using him as a means to try and usurp the power from Incendie Bleu, leader of the Bleus. When they had their daughter, Apricca Fine Vieolit, Sixy dumped the egg on poor Pulummus and left his side. He was greatly hurt by her callousness, but raised their daughter without saying a word.

His best friend Knightly Gripper pressured him to find another mate who would love him for less selfish reasons. At first he was reluctant, but with some persuasion from Apricca, he set out to meet someone new. This was when he met Kiki Passeri, a swallowtail dragon. He was impressed by her grace and agility and she was in turn impressed by his gentleness and kind heart. They soon had their first egg together and Pulummus put his past love behind him, knowing he had found his true partner.
