Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

This lithe and noble dragon is a glimmering shadow on the highest peaks of the mountain range, preferring the quiet solitude of the higher altitudes to the company of the cave. Occasionally calling out from the reaches of the sky, his song is a haunting melody of contemplation mingled with sorrow. Every so often, he descends from his territory to court the females of the cave, preferring the sweet-hearted Rosa or the ladylike Uxora's companionship... but before long he returns to his mountain wandering, singing tandem with Cerauno and crying to the eagles in wonder at the tragedies of the world.
