When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jinzuu has always had an appreciation for beauty. He used to belong to a migratory clan of water dragons, traveling with them to discover new visions of nature at her best. Then one day, while passing along the coast east of the Kyokos Vale, he spotted a tangle of flowering vines that had fallen into the water. Intrigued by the beautiful crimson blossoms, he drew closer to examine them—and realized that these vines were actually a voracious snare! Thrashing mightily, Jinzuu was dragged partway into the sea cave where the vines were rooted, and there he came face-to-face with Zanka. Mesmerized by this dragon's graceful elegance, Jinzuu completely forgot to struggle. Fortunately, she was just as smitten, and her Dragon Grass was no longer attempting to bite. Ever since their unexpected meeting, Jinzuu has remained by Zanka's side, bringing her seafood delicacies that she'd be unable to catch for herself.
