Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Natrisus is the presence felt in the shadows of the darkest caves, the brilliant yellow eyes seen gleaming out of the corner of one's eye, that travelers convince themselves is only a trick of light. He remains trapped in the mass of abandoned tunnels far beneath the earth, held prisoner by an ancient curse. If even a single drop of water falls on his vibrant scales, he will burst into flame, his life burning to ashes. So he hides his face, lurking in the dark, in hopes that the deep darkness will penetrate seep through his skin into the very fiber of his being, to smother all memory of rain. Cool and clear, falling around him with a rhythmical beat that was almost musical... everything that is good and pure. Everything that Natrisus will never feel. His only release comes once a month, when the moon hides her face. Then the curse is lifted and he can plunge into a crystal stream, to let its cooling touch soothe his burning scales once again.
