Dark green dragons, once they mature, appear to become an entirely different species. However, this isn’t true. Rather, they burrow underground and get nutrients from their vines. These vines are sometimes referred to as Dragon Grass. These dragons are very violent, and will use their vines to capture, kill, and eat anything that moves, as well as nearby plants. Luckily, their range is limited and they cannot use magic. Dark green dragons tend to be easy to spot since they usually kill all plants around them and thus are usually surrounded by a large clearing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Spiranthes is a rather sad dragon. He was unwanted when he had hatched, and was abandoned. Though picked up by the dragons of this cave, his troubles have not ended there. He is regarded as strange, and the other dragons tend to avoid him. He has been disliked by the female he has loved, and has scars from failed advances.

Despite this sadness, he seems to love hatchlings. While the others hunt or occupy their time with other activities, Spiranthes is always the one protecting the eggs and playing with the hatchlings, despite their annoyance with him.

Spiranthes is extremely trustworthy though, and therefore, after the skywing,  Dinivium gave up second in command, Spiranthes was the one to take over.

As stated before, Spiranthes has few friends. Fimus is one of the only dragons fair to him, and was the dragon whom found him left for dead outside a cave, and therefore, Spiranthes hero-worships Fimus slightly.

Perhaps the only dragon that truely loves him is Athellia, the autumn dragon
