Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rain of the Black Clouds is a dragon named after a stormy night soon after his egg was laid. He is not vicious or mean but rather humble and will do anything to help out even to the point of getting in the way. He might get rebuked often for trying to help out too much but most of the time, dragons will really appreciate it, especially hatchlings who just want chores over with. Rain knows this and while he's doing the work, he'll usually say, "If you don't work then you're never going to earn your rank and you'll probably never find a suitable mate. Most look for good ranking, above hunters like hunter-warriors or commanders, stuff like that. And they do rank pairing too like a young hunter could mate with a young warrior but not very often."
