Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tania is Spieko's and Melanthis' second-born. Unlike her brother Gorch, she is more reserved, assessing a situation before jumping in. The few who mistake the reserve for fear are taught a quick, painful lesson with the snap of a tail. She has bred from time to time yet never felt the mother's instinct enough to care for the eggs. As far as she's concerned, there's too much to do and see to tie herself down to the nest. She leaves the rearing of the hatchlings to other dragons who have better tolerance for the squeaks and grunts the little ones make.
