Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This queer hatchling has an adamant belief that it is made out of cheese. No one knows where in the world this belief came from and no ones been able to convince him that it's not true. Moldy Eternal CheeseVine behaves much like a cheese dragon would, and since that enchanted breed's arrival in the clan, he has been purposefully observing and mimicking them. He avoids all bright and sunny areas, preferring the dark and dank places he finds. He runs from all Red and Magma Dragons, fearing that being too close to them will melt his delicate hide. He's also always rolling in moss and lichen to try to get mold to grow on him so that he will seem less delicious to other dragons.
