Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aegis seems a very straight-forward dragon, choosing to get things done quickly and going back to fix them later. However, she rarely is able to concentrate on any one thing at any given time. Her speech is rather broken, but that's only because her mind is racing through so many different things it's hard for her to concentrate. She's rather mischievous, and her mind is her greatest strength. She can decide what she wants, find a fault in the items defense, devise a way to get through it and get back out with her item while figuring out how she's to avoid getting caught before she's even done deciding what she wants! Her mind is definitely split, and yet the other dragons come to her for advice of any kind. Whether its spiritual, physical or even a simple math calculation, her answers are normally out before she chooses to listen to the entire question. Most would describe her as being eight steps ahead of the enemy, but those who know her would say shes eight steps ahead of herself.
